Last year, the incredible generosity of the UK public, various companies, donors and other benefactors led to the despatch of 30,000 Christmas presents to Ukrainian children. These gifts were distributed by Rotary International and received support from prominent figures such as Ukraine’s leading fashion designer, Andre Tan, and the former Head of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration, Serhiy Haidai. This campaign received significant coverage on national Ukrainian TV and extended its reach to schools, orphanages, hospitals and even Russian-occupied Mariupol.
The Plant and Hire Aid Alliance is committed to sending another shipment of presents this year, which will once again be distributed by Rotary International. As the public’s attention on the war begins to wane, we want to ensure that the ongoing conflict and the immense human suffering affecting millions of families are not forgotten.
As the Russian advances into Ukraine persist, children bear the brunt of the suffering, with many likely to carry emotional scars for life. We hope to bring a little bit of joy into their lives as the festive season approaches.
If you wish to contribute to giving Ukrainian children another Christmas this year, you can wrap your gift(s) in Christmas paper, label them with details such as whether they are for a boy or girl and the appropriate age range, and send them to:
The Plant and Hire Aid Alliance at c/o Ardent Hire Solutions, 289-297 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP3 9BS.
Please ensure the gifts reach us before December 8th, as the delivery will be dispatched the following week.
We’ll also be organising a buffet on the day of the truck departure for those that would like to celebrate the occasion.
