The Plant & Hire Aid Alliance would like to thank Westmill Foods for donating 14 tonnes of flour. This flour was on our latest convoy and was delivered, with the help of Rotary International, across Ukraine for distribution to many small villages and local people in need.

This generous donation is just part of the £4.5million worth of aid that the Alliance has sent to Ukraine over the past two years. This includes generators for homes, schools and hospitals, vital medical supplies, everyday food and clothing, and no less than 45,000 Christmas presents for children who have been displaced from their homes.

We’re delighted with the support our appeals have raised so far, but we also know that this is just the tip of the iceberg. As the war in Ukraine rumbles on, aid is needed more urgently than ever. However, with the eyes of the world on other conflicts, including Gaza and the Gulf, donations are becoming harder and harder to source.

The UNHCR estimates that 14.6million people in Ukraine need humanitarian help, with over 3.7million of these displaced from their homes. After a second winter living under atrocious wartime conditions, many of these people are now desperate for the basics, like flour and bread, that we simply take for granted here in the UK.

If your company has any surplus stock that you can spare, or you would like to make a donation of goods or cash to support suffering families in Ukraine, please get in touch with the Alliance by emailing ukraine@ardenthire.co.uk, or completing the contact form on our website.

With every delivery, the faces of our Ukrainian friends show us just how much your donations are appreciated.
